How to Search for Equipment?

Searching for equipment is a breeze. There are several different ways to search for what you are looking for based on your different search criteria’s. One option is to use the home page search tool bar. It allows you to filter down your search by searching for new, used or certified equipment. Also, in this tool bar you will find filter options to choose from year, make, type, hours and price. Of course, there is always the option to use the free text search bar that allows you to free text a word to locate exactly what you are after. You will also find this search bar at the bottom footer of any page you are on.

On the classified listing page, we have added a search tool bar similar to the one on the home page but with the added feature of searching by location. The location filter will help you narrow down the equipment based on your location and how far out from it you want to search.

One of our most exciting feature and widely used is our listing map. The listing map allows you to search for equipment in all the ways described above, but what is unique about this search feature is that you get to view all your equipment on google map to see where it is located.

The last search option is on the home page. This search lets you click on the equipment type icon or the manufacture name to filter your equipment down based on one of the two criteria’s.

How to Find Equipment Near Me?

Two ways to search for equipment near you are by going to the listing map page and searching for equipment near you on the map. To do this, enter your location using the filter tool and then change your search radius by either typing in how may miles away you want to search, or by using the slider to adjust the search radius.

The other option you can use, is to utilize the find equipment page where you will find the filter tool that you can use to search for equipment near you. First enter your location and then change your search radius by either typing in how many miles away you want to search or by using the slider to adjust the search radius.

What If I Can’t Find the Equipment I’m Looking for?

New, used and certified equipment continue to be added daily. We recommend checking back regularly to see if the equipment you have been looking for has been added. We also have a great network of trusted dealers that we recommend reaching out to if you just can’t find the equipment you are looking for near you. Go to our locate a dealer page, where you can search for dealers by the manufactures they carry and by location.

How to Search Using the Google Map Listing Feature?

The Google listing map feature is one of our most used features. It helps you, the customer, see where and what equipment is near you. Using the listing map is a breeze. By starting with the filter tool, this will allow you to narrow down your search by using filter options such as condition, year, make, model, etc. If you don’t have anything particular in mind, you can always scroll around on the map to see what is out there.

How to Place an Ad?

We have spent a lot of time getting this right for you, the customer.  Placing an ad is as simple as 1,2,3.

  1. Go to the sell your equipment Simply fill out the information on this page, that best describes what you are selling. Once you have all the information filled out and the pictures uploaded, you will need to create an account or sign in at the bottom of the page if you haven’t already done so. Once the account is created you will see two buttons at the bottom to post your ad or save it as a draft to come back to later. When you post your ad, we will help you out by finding the plan/subscription you have purchased. If you haven’t purchased one yet, do not fret, we will save your draft to your account and direct you to the pricing page where you can purchase the best plan/subscription for you.
  2. Once you have made it to the pricing page and find the plan you want, simply hover over it and click. You will be directed to your shopping cart and checkout page where you can fill out all your information to securely purchase that plan/subscription. Also, it is important to note that in this process you will have the option with certain plans to subscribe and setup auto renewal.
  3. Once you have purchased your plan/subscription you can proceed back to your account if you have saved your draft. Locate your draft in your account and click “edit”. At this point you can make any last-minute changes you need to, or go straight down to the bottom to publish your ad.

What If the Manufacture Isn’t Listed?

We have over 1,500 verified manufactures to choose from, but that doesn’t mean they’re not more out there. In the case that we missed a manufacture, please select “other”.  When you select “other” you will be prompted when you submit your ad to enter the name of the manufacture, so we can verify and add them into the directory.

What If the Type of Equipment Isn’t Listed?

If you don’t see the correct type of equipment that you are trying to sell, we encourage you to select “other”. When you select “other,” you will be prompted when you submit your ad, to enter the type of equipment that you have, so we can verify and add it into the directory.

How to Upload Pictures to an Ad?

Every browser is different. Some will allow you to drag and drop, while others will not. For browsers that will not let you, you will need to use the “choose file” button to upload your pictures. A little hint that might be handy while using the “choose file” button is if you hold down the control key on your keyboard and select multiple pictures. This will allow you to upload them all at once.

For mobile devices, click on “choose file” and when prompted select the option to go into your photo library on your phone. At this point, you can select all the photos you want to upload, then select “done”.

How to Upload a PDF Brochure?

To upload a PDF brochure, all you need to do is click on the “+” symbol and find the attachment on your device and select “done”. It is important to note that this file must be saved as a PDF for the system to find and upload it.  All other file types, such as Word and Excel will not upload.

What Profile Is Right for Me? Personal, Business or Dealer?

Whether you have one piece of equipment for sale or 100, we have you covered with the right profile for you. If you only have one piece of equipment to sell, then the personal profile is probably right for you. If you have a company and own multiple pieces of equipment, then the business plan is probably the right plan for you. For the dealers that sell a specific manufacture type, and are backed by the manufacture, then the dealer plan would be right for you. What Is a Personal Profile?

This profile is designed for the individuals that have one or two pieces of equipment they want to sell. For example, if you own a farm, ranch or have a side job doing construction work and are looking to sell one of your pieces of equipment, the personal profile would be right for you.

What Is a Business Profile?

This profile was created for small to large companies that own a fleet of equipment and are selling it on a regular basis. These companies can range from rental stores, to companies that buy and resale equipment, to your small, to large construction companies that own their own fleet of equipment.

What Is a Dealer Profile?

This profile is for dealers only. To classify as a dealer, you must sell a specific manufacture or manufacture’s brand of equipment and must be recognized as a dealer from that manufacture. Dealers can be searched for on the find a dealer page, so customers can contact them for various reasons. Dealers usually have the ability to purchase new equipment from the manufacture and offer financing as well as warranties. Dealers also usually have a service and parts department, with a support network from the manufacture.

How to Become a Dealer?

Signing up to become a dealer can be done in a few simple steps. First, you will need to create an account (or if you already have one, you are one step ahead).  After creating an account, log into your profile page and you will see the option to become a dealer. Click on “become a dealer” and fill out the information asked. After you submit your request, you will receive an email stating your new profile has been submitted. You will also see on your profile page that your status will show as “pending”. After we have received your request we will review and verify that your information is correct. We may need to contact you or the manufacture to verify your dealer status, but this usually doesn’t take long.  After verification, you will receive an email with your welcome letter and you will be able to enjoy your dealer benefits.

How to Setup a Business Profile?

Setting up a business profile can be done in a few simple steps. First, you will need to create an account (or if you already have one, you are one step ahead). After creating an account, log into your profile page and you will see the option to setup a business profile. Click on “I’m a business” and fill out the information asked. After you submit your request, you will receive an email stating your new profile has been submitted.  You will also see on your profile page that your status will show as “pending”. After we have received your request, we will review and verify that your information is correct.  We may have to contact you if we need any more information, but this usually doesn’t take long. After verification, you will receive an email with your welcome letter and you will be able to enjoy your dealer benefits.

How to Setup a Personal Profile?

A personal profile is the default profile that is created when you sign up at Heavy Equipment Seller. To sign up, you can register and fill out the information.

Can I List My Equipment for Free?

YES.  If you are new to Heavy Equipment Seller, or have never purchased a plan/ subscription, you can go to the pricing page and list your equipment for free for 30 days using the free seller plan. All you will need to do is sign in, or create an account before or after you select the free seller plan.

How Do I Know What Plan Is Right for Me?

Depending on the type of equipment you have and the quantity you want to sell will largely determine what plan is best for you. On average, equipment is listed for 90 days before it is sold. So, if you have one or two items, the unlimited seller plan is usually found to be best. This will let you keep your ads listed until they sell. If you have up to five items, you may want to look at our small business seller plan. This plan is designed for people that have up to five items for sell. Now if you’re a dealer or large volume seller, you cannot go wrong with the large business seller plan. The large business seller plan lets you post as many pieces of equipment that you want to. However, don’t forget that we offer a discount with our small and large business seller plans if you purchase the year plan.

How Do I Apply a Coupon?

Once you select the plan or subscription that is best for you, you will see an option in your shopping cart to apply your coupon code. Simply enter your coupon code and click “apply”.  We will take care of the rest.

What Payment Methods are Accepted?

We except all major credit cards; Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.  We also except direct bank transfers. Simply input your account information and process your payment.

How Do I Renew My Plan?

There are a couple ways you can renew your plan. During checkout, you can always check the “auto renew” box. This will help eliminate having to remember to go back in and renew each month, and you can cancel at any time. The other option, is sending you an email reminder to renew your plan within 7 days of your plan expiring. You can follow the link in the email to renew your plan or log into your account where you will see the “renew” button you can click on.

Can I Get a Discount If I Purchase a Year Subscription?

YES. With our year subscriptions, we offer a two-month discount to our users. That’s 12 months for the price of 10 months!
